Terms and conditions

Design meeting

This meeting will usually last 3 – 4 hours. Its purpose is to develop the customer’s ideas into a workable instrument. All aspects of the design will be covered (e.g. materials, dimensions, price, electronics, finish, etc). The final specification is decided upon by the customer, and “Hartley Bespoke” is not liable in any way for the design.

Placing an order

Once the design is finalised, an estimated price is provided. The final price can be different, due to exchange rates, supplier price variations, or other unexpected factors.

Payment

A payment of 65% of the estimated finished price is made, and this constitutes a binding agreement between both parties. Once the payment is made, the build process will begin immediately, and few if any changes can be made. (Any allowable changes would usually incur extra costs.) A request for extra payments(s) may be made, if the materials cost vary significantly from the estimate.

Conditions of order

A payment of 65% of the instrument cost would be made on placing the order. Additional payments to cover unexpected costs (e.g. material cost variations) could be requested. The build process would usually be halted until these payments were made. The final payment (the difference between payments already made and the final price) must be made in full (cleared funds) before the instrument becomes the property of the customer. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, or in cash.

Timescale

In most cases, it will take between 16 and 24 weeks to complete the instrument. On completion, the balance must be paid (cleared funds) before the instrument becomes the property of the customer.

Cancellation

If the order is cancelled during the build timescale then no refund of any kind will be made. Indeed, cancellation of the order would result in a financial loss by “Hartley Bespoke”, and in some cases further payment would be requested.

Collection by customer

Once complete, set up and tested, a date is arranged for the customer to collect the instrument. Collection must be by the customer in person.
